Are you searching for a job in the UAE, or are you currently employed and seeking better opportunities? Before deciding to switch jobs or apply for a new position in the UAE, it's essential to acquire new skills.

Career experts suggest that UAE employers will require specific skill sets during onboarding. This initiative has arisen following ongoing conflicts between the US and Iran.

Employees Need to Learn New Skills

So, what new changes are required to improve the current employment and job market? As advised by several HR leaders in the country, it's important to adapt to the new changes.  This will help employees stay flexible amid the market’s constant change. Thus, allowing human-led skills to stay at the forefront during these crucial times.

The experts also explained that with the advent of AI, it's important to learn new skills and stay up to date. It's also important to master several technical skills, as they remain a priority in this tech-driven era.

Reportedly, regulatory shifts, AI adoption, and economic diversification are gaining momentum in the UAE. This means employees need to constantly learn new skills and keep up with new-age technologies. Becoming an expert in one subject can increase one’s judgement about their job profile. This will help them stay relevant in their respective fields and ahead of their peers.

A Change in the Job Market

HR experts noted that in the UAE, collaborating with individuals from diverse cultures and geographies is particularly valuable. This means that creative skills and having empathy play an important part. So, emotional intelligence is also a valued human skill.

There has been a constant change in the job market worldwide. Most companies have been going for mass firing over the past few years. Thus, eventually resulting in the demand for ‘reskilling’. Experts suggest that reskilling should not start after your job is at risk. In support of this statement, Vasudha Khandeparkar, an AI and data specialist and VP of Value-Based Management at RAKBANK, highlighted, “By that point, you are already behind. Most resilient professionals treat learning as a part of their role, not as a response to fear.”
