The UAE is becoming one of the world's leading countries for using artificial intelligence. The latest DHL eCommerce Trends Report 2026 shows that people in the country are quickly accepting AI and using it in their daily lives. The report also says the UAE is one of the fastest-growing markets for online shopping and digital technology.

More people in the UAE now prefer shopping online than ever before. According to the report, 52% of shoppers expect to buy more products from retailer websites over the next five years. Around 51% say they will shop more on online marketplaces, while 47% expect to use shopping apps more often. Another 37% believe they will use AI-powered shopping assistants and chat tools while buying products online.

Businesses Expand Digital Sales Channels

Businesses are also changing the way they sell products. Many companies are adding new online channels to reach more customers. Around 68% expect more people to contact them through social media. About 65% believe mobile apps will become even more important, while 64% expect online marketplaces to bring more sales. Nearly 59% think AI chatbots will help customers shop more easily.

Social media is now an important shopping platform in the UAE. The report says 68% of shoppers have bought products through Facebook. Instagram is close behind with 67%, while 57% have shopped through TikTok. Around 41% have also made purchases through YouTube.

Businesses are following the same trend. More than 80% already sell products on Facebook. Many also use Instagram and TikTok to reach customers and increase sales. Social media is no longer only a place for advertising. It has become a place where people discover and buy products every day.

Social Commerce Continues to Grow

Amazon remains the most popular online marketplace in the UAE. Both shoppers and businesses continue to choose the platform for buying and selling products. This shows that online marketplaces remain an important part of the country's growing digital commerce industry.

The DHL report also matches other recent studies that place the UAE among the world's top countries for AI use. Some reports say more than 70% of working-age people in the country now use AI tools. Strong internet services, high smartphone use, and government support for new technology have helped make this possible.

AI is becoming a normal part of shopping in the UAE. More businesses are using smart tools to improve customer service, while shoppers are enjoying faster and easier ways to buy products.
