Anthropic has unveiled Claude Tag, a new AI agent designed to work alongside employees in workplace conversations. The latest tool is part of its broader effort to make AI a collaborative participant in enterprise workflows.
The new feature, available in Slack, allows users to bring Claude directly into team discussions by tagging the AI model. Anthropic believes this step can help organizations improve coordination, reduce information silos, and speed up decision-making.
In a company announcement, Anthropic explained, “We see Claude Tag as the beginning of an evolution of Claude Code: it makes the model even more proactive, and it works better with a full team. Tagging @Claude is now one of the main ways we get things done at Anthropic.”
The feature works inside existing Slack channels and threads. You just need to type ‘@Claude’ to activate the AI assistant. The feature can analyze the thread, understand the context, and provide insights.
Unlike traditional AI assistants that operate in separate chat windows, the new feature can participate in discussions and project management within the same digital workspace. Claude Tag can perform several workplace tasks. These include:
Summarize lengthy discussions
Answer questions
Identify key updates
Break projects into actionable steps
The advanced AI model can also surface relevant information from across an organization when needed. Anthropic describes it as a collaborator who is available 24/7.
The tech giant believes that collaborative AI is the next level of adoption. Claude Tag promises to support an entire team at once, not just individual users.
All activities take place via common channels. This allows every member of the specific organization to analyze and discuss work with the AI tool.
According to Anthropic, administrators will still control what Claude Tag can access. They will be able to specify access permissions for the relevant channels, data sources, and related tools. The feature's current availability in beta mode is limited to Claude Enterprise and Claude Team users in Slack.
