Gold prices in Dubai remained largely unchanged on Friday (September 18, 2026) morning as traders assessed the latest signals from the US Federal Reserve and developments in the global oil market. According to Dubai Jewelry Group data, 24K gold opened at AED 526.75 per gram, while 22K was priced at AED 487.25 per gram.
The latest rates come as international gold prices also remained steady, with spot gold trading around USD 4,366 per ounce. Silver, meanwhile, rose 0.8% to USD 66.12 an ounce.
Other gold categories also showed limited movement at the start of Friday's trading session. The 21K rate stood at Dh467.25 per gram, while 18K gold was priced at AED 400.50. The 14K rate was AED 312.50 per gram, according to Dubai Jewelry Group figures.
The relatively steady domestic prices followed a flat session for international bullion. Gold has remained sensitive to expectations surrounding interest rates, inflation and the US dollar, leaving traders focused on signals from policymakers.
Daniel Takieddine, Co-Founder and CEO of Sky Links Capital Group, said that while the Federal Reserve's decision was widely priced in, Chair Kevin Warsh's remarks that inflation remains too high, with forecasts pointing to at least one more increase this year, weighed on gold.
"Looking ahead, traders will likely monitor potential rate increases by major central banks and any additional Fed signals this year. Any hawkish indications could lift yields and pressure gold. Softer messaging may ease yields and help gold rebound. Traders are also watching oil and Middle East supply disruptions, which remain near-term risks," he added.
Naeem Aslam, CIO of Zaye Capital Markets, said the broader gold-price ecosystem remains dependent on which side of that conflict strengthens.
"Political uncertainty, tariff risk, elevated oil prices and geopolitical tensions can sustain demand for portfolio protection, while weaker economic data can increase expectations that policy tightening is nearing its limit… For investors following gold prices, the most important indicators are US real Treasury yields, the dollar, oil prices, retail-sales momentum, inflation expectations and the forward policy path," he further added.

Markets are also watching oil prices and supply disruptions in the Middle East. These factors can influence inflation expectations and, in turn, affect how investors assess the outlook for interest rates and precious metals.
Naeem Aslam, Chief Investment Officer at Zaye Capital Markets, said gold's direction remains linked to several factors, including political uncertainty, tariff risks, oil prices and geopolitical tensions. He also pointed to US real Treasury yields, the dollar, retail-sales trends and inflation expectations as indicators worth watching.
Dubai’s retail gold prices opened steady on Friday, holding close to their recent highs. However, investors should watch for intraday fluctuations driven by global market movements and impending central bank signals.
