Dubai is preparing to introduce a new ‘Rent Now, Pay Later’ service that could change how tenants pay annual housing costs. According to reports, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) plans to launch the initiative in September 2026,

The proposed service will allow tenants to divide their annual rent into up to 12 monthly instalments without paying interest. The aim is to ease the financial pressure created by large upfront rental payments. This is especially for residents who prefer monthly cash-flow management.

Local Bank to Pay Landlords Upfront

Under the proposed model, the DLD will work with a local bank to facilitate rental payments. DLD would coordinate with local banks to ensure the rent is paid through them. The bank would give the entire yearly rent to the landlord in one instalment, whereas the tenant would repay the bank in installments.

In this way, landlords can get their money without any hassle, and on the other hand, the tenants can make sure that they do not have to arrange big rent cheques at the start of the year.

Scheme Could Ease Tenant Cash-Flow Pressure

The rental system in Dubai has shifted towards flexible payment methods. The newly introduced program will advance the trend by incorporating monthly instalments with zero interest.

For the tenants, paying monthly rent will make it easy to forecast monthly expenses. This will help them avoid keeping too much money in cash, especially when making multiple rental payments.

However, details about eligibility, participating properties, application procedures and other terms have not yet been fully disclosed. The service is currently reported as a planned September launch rather than an immediately available option.
