Abu Dhabi is already known for its advanced technology and its implications in almost all sectors. Now it is all set to bring an AI-powered cloud service for financial infrastructure. The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has collaborated with Core42, a G42 company.
The partnership aims to develop the world’s first sovereign financial cloud services infrastructure. The Central Bank of the UAE believes that partnership will create the world’s first AI-powered cloud service dedicated to the financial sector.
The new platform, known as the Sovereign Financial Cloud Services Infrastructure (SFCSI), forms part of the CBUAE’s Financial Infrastructure Transformation programme.
The initiative aims to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for secure and innovative financial services. The SFCSI will operate on a centralised, secure, and fully automated infrastructure. According to the CBUAE, the system is designed to:
Maintain data sovereignty
Upgrade the existing operational functions
Create protection to stay safe from cyber threats
Create constant availability of sensitive financial services
The partnership also aims to build a unified framework for managing multi-cloud services. Thus, allowing licensed financial institutions (LFIs) to manage all their services under one community. Moreover, the SFCSI aims to upgrade the entire UAE financial sector.
Looking ahead, Saif Humaid Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Support Services at the CBUAE, said, “The national sovereign financial cloud services infrastructure provides a secure, scalable and future‑ready foundation that enhances data protection and accelerates innovation, enabling the CBUAE together with licensed financial institutions to deliver next‑generation digital services with confidence.”
He also believes that, by using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, the financial platform leverages the CBUAE to enable data-driven, smart automation. This will eventually help strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness and support sustainable economic growth.
