Apple may hold the line on iPhone prices this fall, even as the wider smartphone market sees a gradual increase. Analysts now expect iPhone 18 Pro to start at $1,099, matching the current iPhone 17 Pro. iPhone 18 Pro Max could also cost approximately $1,199.
Jeff Pu from GF Securities confirms Apple is pursuing an ‘aggressive pricing strategy.’ The 18 Pro model is likely to retain 12GB RAM, the same as the current model. This means buyers won’t have to trade memory for a stable price. Analysts note that Apple’s purchasing power and cost-saving moves in displays and cameras help offset rising memory costs.
Affordable models will have to wait. Reports indicate Apple will launch only iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and a new foldable iPhone in September. The standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and rumored iPhone Air 2 won’t arrive until spring 2027. For now, the cheapest options are above $1,000.
iPhone 18 Pro promises several improvements:
A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process for better speed and efficiency.
Smaller Dynamic Island with Face ID components under the display.
First-ever variable aperture main camera on an iPhone.
C2 modem supporting 5G via satellite.
Larger battery in the Pro Max, around 5,100 mAh.
New Dark Cherry color option.
These upgrades signal strong value at the same starting price.
The flat pricing shields buyers from the memory market volatility hitting Android rivals. Storage upgrades may cost more, so check pricing tiers. Those seeking a budget-friendly iPhone will have to wait until next year. As September nears, rapid changes in component costs could affect final pricing.
