Iran's Revolutionary Guards have issued a warning that they plan to target major U.S. technology and industrial companies starting April 1, 2026. This threat is in retaliation for attacks conducted by the U.S. on Iranian territory.

According to state media reports, Iran said it would strike the regional operations of several major technology firms, specifically naming about 18 companies. These include Intel, Google, Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Tesla, and Boeing.

Iran Preps For Tech War

After facing continuous attacks from the US, Iran has decided to attack the technology hubs in the US. The main aim is to weaken the US's data power. The IRGC has warned employees of these tech giants to leave their workplaces immediately to ensure their safety.

The IRGC further said in a statement that, “these companies should expect the destruction of their respective units in exchange for each terror act in Iran, starting from 8 PM Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1st.” Please note that Tehran is two hours behind India, so 8 pm there is equal to 10 pm in India.

Another Tasnim news agency highlighted that, “Since the main element in designing and tracking targets are American and ICT and AI companies from now on, (these) main institutions will be our legitimate targets.”

Iran-US Conundrum

What is the agenda of attacking the technology companies, and how will it impact the US? Well, the United States relies heavily on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support its military operations. The core of this system is data. The US agencies use these technology pillars to gather vast amounts of information through intercepted communications, satellites, and reconnaissance aircraft. Attacking this support would mean weakening the US's core weapon.

Looking ahead, in response to the threats, the White House confidently claims that the United States is prepared to counter any potential attacks. Another White House official said, “The United States military is and was prepared to curtail any attacks by Iran, as evidenced by the 90 percent drop in ballistic missile and drone attacks by the terrorist regime.”
