Apple is reportedly preparing a new MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen and an OLED iPad mini as part of its upcoming product plans for October and November 2026.
The new MacBook Pro could arrive next month with an OLED panel and touch support. It would mark the first time Apple brings both technologies to its MacBook lineup. The company is also expected to make the upcoming model lighter than previous versions.
According to a Bloomberg report cited by Digit, Apple is developing a MacBook Pro with an OLED display that will support touch interactions. The company is also expected to change macOS Golden Gate to support the new input method. The software could also introduce Dynamic Island to the MacBook experience. Apple is expected to make internal changes to the laptop. Smaller components and a revised internal layout could help reduce the overall weight.
The new MacBook Pro is expected to launch next month. Apple did not officially confirm the product or its launch timeline. Alongside the MacBook Pro, Apple is also reportedly working on an OLED version of the iPad mini. The tablet could arrive in October or November. It is expected to receive a newer processor, likely the A20 Pro.
The upcoming iPad mini could also receive a landscape-oriented FaceTime camera. The display upgrade would give the compact tablet a major change over the current model.
Apple is also expected to announce three home-focused products on October 13. These include a smart home hub with a screen, a new Apple TV 4K and a new HomePod mini. The devices are expected to feature an AI-powered version of Siri.
The product changes come as John Ternus takes a broader role in Apple’s hardware and software design work. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Ternus is focusing more attention on hardware, product engineering, industrial design and human interface work.
