CD Projekt Red is increasing the team working on its unannounced game, Project Hadar, with plans to have up to 50 developers on the project by the end of 2026.
The studio currently has more than 30 people working on Project Hadar, CD Projekt Red Vice President of Investor Relations Karolina Gnas said during the company’s latest earnings call on Wednesday.
Gnas said the game is still in the early concept stage. The team is testing different ideas and approaches while creating early gameplay prototypes.
CD Projekt Red has not yet revealed what Project Hadar will be about. The studio has also not shared details about its story, setting, characters or release plans.
The project is different from the studio’s better-known games in terms of what is currently known about its development. The Witcher is a third-person fantasy role-playing series, while Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person role-playing game with shooting elements.
At this stage, the safest assumption is that Project Hadar will have some form of role-playing gameplay. CD Projekt Red has not confirmed any other details about the project.
The studio is also working on several other major games. The Witcher 4 is one of its main development priorities, and CD Projekt Red is targeting a 2028 release for the game.
The company also announced The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. The expansion is set a decade after the events of The Witcher 3.
Development of The Witcher 1 remake has been put on hold as the studio moves more resources toward The Witcher 4 and other projects.
The Witcher 3 Remastered is also scheduled to launch this month. Players who already own the game will receive the upgrade for free, and their existing save files will continue to work.
CD Projekt Red is also developing a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The studio is therefore handling several large projects at the same time, with Project Hadar still in its earliest development phase.
