Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, has crossed AED 45.61 million in worldwide opening-weekend bookings. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is scheduled to release in theaters on November 5.
The strong pre-sales figure has raised expectations for a big global opening. However, booking trends differ by market, with Indian audiences showing stronger interest than viewers overseas.
International markets have contributed more than AED 15 million to the film’s opening-weekend bookings. North America emerged as the film’s largest overseas market.
Paid premiere screenings in the United States and Canada on November 4 have already earned over USD 1.2 million. The film’s opening-weekend pre-sales in the US are reportedly close to USD 3 million.
Trade trackers believe the overseas response could give the film a strong start outside India. The international figures suggest that the film is attracting interest among the Indian diaspora and other overseas audiences.
In India, advance bookings have reached AED 30.61 million so far. Trade analysts say Ramayana: Part 1 needs a sharp jump in domestic bookings to match the biggest Indian openings of 2026. The film’s final advance-booking figures will depend on last-minute ticket sales, while audience word-of-mouth could influence its performance after the initial screenings.
Ramayana: Part 1 faces high expectations as one of the year’s most expensive Indian films. The movie features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, with music by A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. It is the first installment of a planned two-part adaptation.
