Remedy Entertainment has released the final major update for FBC: Firebreak, titled Open House, on March 17, 2026. The studio has confirmed that no new playable content will be added in the future; however, the game will continue to remain online and supported.
This update introduces five new arenas for the Endless Shift mode, inspired by Remedy’s Control: Cafeteria, Aircon Room, Ranger HQ, Turntable, and Ritual Lobby.
‘Open House’ focuses on clarity and flexibility. Changes aim to make gameplay smoother and more responsive for existing players. Key changes include:
Shorter status effects
Improved healing from water sources
Streamlined perk equipping
Revised weapon balance
Faster revive and crawl speeds
Clearer HUD indicators
The base game is permanently reduced to $19.99 USD and the Deluxe Edition is $29.99. Steam offers a 20% discount until the end of March 2026.
A Twitch Drops campaign runs from March 17 to April 12, 2026. Players who watch three hours of FBC streams can unlock Researcher and Overseer armor sets.
Remedy has introduced a Friend’s Pass system. Owners can invite up to two friends to play the full game for free. Cross-platform play is supported and session creation is limited.
The studio has ensured that relay servers will continue to run, even with fewer players. Patches will be released if required to maintain the game.
Firebreak (FBC), Remedy’s first online multiplayer and self-published title, launched in 2025, but struggled to gain traction. The company is now focusing on Resonant, the upcoming Control sequel expected in 2026.
Remedy’s goal is to maintain the existing player community while concluding FBC's live-service expansion.
