Seagate Technology has released its latest collection of external storage drives. The new model features a user-friendly design and simplified installation methods for customers. The company plans to use this lineup as a practical upgrade for users tired of bulky power adapters and cable clutter.
The launch includes consumer, gaming, and professional-grade storage solutions. Each storage solution is designed to target specific usage scenarios. It also maintains a consistent design approach that prioritizes ease of use by minimizing hardware requirements.
So, how will Seagate’s new product change the user experience? Well, the major shift is the move to bus-powered USB-C connectivity. The new drives draw power directly from the host device with a single cable. Now users don’t need any separate power bricks or wall sockets.
This approach improves portability and reduces setup time. It also aligns with modern laptops and workstations, which majorly rely on USB-C ports. The lineup includes:
One Touch for everyday backups and personal use.
FireCuda X Vault is tailored for gamers managing large libraries.
LaCie 8big Pro5 is designed for creative professionals and heavy workloads.
The system provides storage solutions that range from everyday operations to advanced enterprise systems. Moreover, the new power system can handle extensive data processing requirements.
Commenting on the launch, Lance Ohara, VP of Edge IoT at Seagate, explained, “From AI‑assisted creativity to massive game libraries and family memories, personal data is growing faster and lasting longer. People need storage that's designed for this new reality – simple to use, built to scale, and ready for what AI brings next.”
Moreover, the company aims to reach a broad market segment with its pricing strategy. Seagate offers entry-level models starting below AED 1,000. The high-end professional systems are priced higher based on storage capacity and RAID configurations. Seagate uses this tiered system to reach different market segments while maintaining its premium offerings.
