Noctua and Pulsar are adding an entirely different feature to the category: active palm cooling. The companies have launched the Pulsar Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition, a gaming mouse with a built-in Noctua fan that directs airflow toward the user's palm. The unusual design aims to reduce sweat and improve comfort during long or intense gaming sessions.
The collaboration combines Pulsar's lightweight gaming mouse design with Noctua's cooling technology. The mouse uses the Noctua NF-A4x10 5V PWM fan, a compact 40 mm unit designed to deliver airflow while consuming little power.
The fan blows air upward through openings in the mouse's carbon-composite housing. Users can control the airflow using five different speed levels through controls on the mouse or web driver.
The design of the mouse is inspired by the Feinmann F01, but the cooling system makes it heavier. For instance, the Noctua Edition weighs 73 grams while the standard one is only 46 grams. Basically, it’s a light gaming mouse.
It features a Pulsar XS-2 sensor with a maximum sensitivity of 42,000 DPI and a maximum polling rate of 8,000 Hz. The mouse uses Pulsar optical switches and connects via USB-C.
Sweaty palms can affect grip and comfort, especially during extended gaming sessions or in hot and humid conditions. The built-in fan attempts to address that problem directly instead of relying only on perforated shells or passive ventilation.
Yet, the design also brings about some new considerations for users. Users will want to know how much noise the fan produces, how effective the airflow feels during gameplay, and how the moving hardware affects long-term durability.
The open design may require more attention when it comes to dust buildup. The increased weight of 27 grams is also going to be important for gamers who use ultralight gaming mice.
The mouse was first shown as a prototype at Computex in 2025 before moving toward a commercial release. Pulsar has now launched the Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition, with availability beginning on July 21, 2026.
