The UAE Government Media Office (GMO) launched the Government Media Content Guideline, a framework designed to improve content creation and communication standards across federal government entities. The announcement came during a meeting of the Government Communication Network at Creators HQ in Dubai on June 1, 2026.

The initiative aims to help government communication teams produce clear, consistent and audience-focused content. It also highlights the growing role of agentic artificial intelligence in shaping public communication, crisis response and digital engagement.

Agentic AI in Government Media

The GMO highlighted agentic AI as a key technology for the next phase of government communication. It can plan and execute tasks with varying degrees of autonomy, potentially supporting faster and more coordinated communication workflows.

According to Al Eter, “Agentic AI can help government teams produce high-quality content in real time, identify misinformation before it spreads and respond more precisely during fast-moving crises.”

The technology could also help communication teams engage with digital communities and adapt messages to changing public information needs. The office's announcement positions AI as a tool to make government communication more proactive and responsive.

Focus on Content Planning and Distribution

The Government Media Content Guideline provides a structured framework for the complete content development process. It covers strategic planning, editorial direction, message development, written and visual production, and distribution across media channels.

The framework includes practical tools and methodologies for communication teams at different stages of content creation. It also establishes standards to improve clarity, maintain consistency with the UAE's communication identity and align content with national priorities.

Alongside the launch, the GMO conducted a practical workshop for government communication teams. The launch comes as the UAE expands its broader government AI transformation programme. The communication guideline adds a dedicated content-focused component to these efforts, bringing editorial planning, digital engagement and media production into the country's wider AI adoption agenda.
