The UAE launched Factory Forward UAE, a national initiative designed to help manufacturers assess their technology needs, adopt artificial intelligence, and implement Industry 4.0 solutions. The program brings together existing industrial technology initiatives under a single platform, giving factories access to technical expertise, technology providers, and financing support.
Launched by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Factory Forward builds on programs that have already supported more than 700 factories across the UAE. More than 620 factories have undergone assessments through the Industrial Technology Transformation Index, one of the programs incorporated into the new initiative.
Factory Forward is intended to cover different stages of a manufacturer's technology journey. Companies can use the platform to identify operational gaps, assess their technology readiness, and determine which advanced solutions could improve their production processes.
The initiative will also provide access to examples of factories that have already implemented advanced technologies. By showcasing practical applications, MoIAT aims to give manufacturers a clearer idea of where technologies such as AI and other Fourth Industrial Revolution tools can deliver measurable value. The program forms part of the UAE's National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, and the Make it in the Emirates initiative.
Factory Forward brings together three broad groups of partners. Technology partners will help manufacturers assess the maturity of their operations and identify suitable technologies. Enablement partners will provide specialist advice, training and knowledge to support implementation.
Financing partners, meanwhile, are expected to help manufacturers access funding and investment required for technology transformation projects. This approach aims to address a common hurdle for manufacturers: knowing which technology to adopt is only the first step; companies also need technical expertise and capital to put those solutions into practice.

This has made the country a global center for industry and an attractive place for industrial investment. The ministry will continue working with its partners to build on this progress. Our focus is on helping factories use more advanced technology, including AI, to increase productivity, improve efficiency, and compete more effectively,” said Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.

The ministry expects wider use of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to help manufacturers respond faster to changes in demand, strengthen supply chains and compete more effectively in domestic and international markets.
Dr. Al Jaber further added, “Factory Forward UAE builds on the ministry’s work to accelerate technology adoption. It will help more manufacturers use the programs and support available and encourage them to apply advanced technology in their operations.”
For UAE manufacturers, Factory Forward creates a single route to assess technology requirements, find expertise, explore financing, and move toward implementation. The government sees the program as another step in building a more technology-driven industrial sector and attracting investment into advanced manufacturing.
