The UAE has introduced new government media guidelines aimed at preparing public sector communications for the growing role of agentic AI and advanced digital technologies. The session examined the principles and strategies that guide the country’s communication approach during emergencies and crises, drawing on practical experience and established best practices.

New UAE Government Media Guidelines

The UAE Government Media Office has launched a Government Media Content Guideline to standardize how federal entities produce and distribute content. The initiative was unveiled during a Government Communication Network meeting at Creators HQ in Dubai. It has brought together senior communications leaders from across federal agencies.

The guideline is designed to make government messaging faster, consistent, and more strategically aligned across platforms. This reflects a broader shift toward data-driven public communication.

How Agentic AI Could Transform Public Sector Communications

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the UAE’s government communication ecosystem, establish higher professional standards, and provide communication teams with practical tools to create content that is more impactful, audience-focused, and aligned with national priorities.

Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, said, “We are developing an advanced government communication ecosystem grounded in data, knowledge, and the latest digital technologies. The goal is to create content that is credible, impactful, and capable of reaching every segment of society.”

To help translate the guidelines into practice, the Government Media Office also hosted a hands-on workshop for communications teams.

Can AI Improve Public Trust in Government Communications?

Participants explored the critical role of communication in crises, with the session emphasizing that government communication should function as a frontline tool rather than a supporting activity.

Agentic AI will define the next chapter,” Al Eter said. “It will allow us to produce high-quality content in real time and at scale, get ahead of misinformation before it spreads, navigate fast-moving crises with greater precision, and engage more meaningfully with digital communities,” he added.

The event also highlighted the UAE’s growing emphasis on crisis communications as a core function of governance rather than an afterthought. A dedicated session led by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) explored how structured communication strategies can strengthen public trust during emergencies.
