Announced at the SAMENA Council Leaders’ Summit 2026, led by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). The U6GHz band, commonly known as the golden spectrum, can extend from 6425 to 7125 MHz. The system provides both extensive coverage and maximum capacity operation. The experts suggest this spectrum is suitable for AI-based applications because it provides fast connectivity and supports upcoming 6G systems. The network provides high-speed internet access, allowing users to download at 10 Gbps and upload at 1 Gbps.
The UAE rollout is a result of long-term planning and preparation. After successful field trials in 2025 that achieved peak speeds of 10 Gbps, TDRA allocated the U6GHz band for mobile services in 2024. Now the UAE has become the first country to operationalize the band at scale.
