Nintendo has given fans a first look at Dark Link in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Recently, the developer has shared a new trailer where the character appears for a few seconds. The footage shows Link fighting enemies using the Master Sword and exploring the world of Hyrule.

Among all this, what stands out is Dark Link jumping onto Link’s sword, hinting at a tough fight ahead. The scene is short, but it has already caught the attention of fans who remember the original battle. The remake is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.

The trailer offers more than a look at Dark Link. It shows Link fighting while riding Epona and gives players a glimpse of the updated camera. Players will be able to move the camera freely during fights. The footage also features familiar enemies and a scene of Ganondorf playing piano.

Dark Link appears as a mini-boss in the Water Temple. In the original game, he stood out because he could copy Link’s moves. This made the fight feel like a battle against Link himself. The new trailer hints that the remake will keep this idea.

The updated camera may also give players more control during the fight. However, the footage does not show enough to confirm whether Dark Link will have new attacks or other changes.

Why Dark Link is Different From Other Enemies

Dark Link was not a huge monster, but what makes him challenging is that he can copy Link’s moves. He doesn’t have his own attacks, but shadows Link. So his attacks are completely similar to Link’s. He says nothing, yet his presence feels unsettling. Since he can match Link’s moves, players cannot rely on the same attacks repeatedly. They must watch his actions and find the right time to strike.

If players need to fear someone, that should be Ganondorf. He is a clear threat, but Dark Link feels more personal because he can turn Link’s own attacks against him. That is what makes the fight so memorable. The remake could make this clash even more intense while keeping its original charm. Fans will have to wait for the full game to see what Nintendo has changed.
