Apple rolled out iOS 27 with a major expansion of Apple Intelligence across the iPhone. The update introduces Siri AI, smarter photo editing, visual intelligence in camera, AI-powered Safari tools and new capabilities across several core apps. Apple released iOS 27 on September 14, 2026.
The biggest change is Siri, which Apple describes as a more conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broader world knowledge, and on-screen awareness.
Siri can now search through information such as emails, messages, photos and notes to find relevant details. It can also perform actions across apps, including drafting emails and editing or sharing photos. Conversations are saved in a dedicated Siri app, allowing users to revisit them later.
Apple also expanded Siri’s writing capabilities. Users can ask Siri to generate drafts, provide feedback or adjust the style and tone of text. Safari receives three notable Apple Intelligence features. Tabs can be automatically grouped by topic, helping users organise large browsing sessions.
Apple Intelligence also expands into Messages, Mail, Shortcuts, Calendar, Reminders, Home and accessibility tools.
The update includes personalised writing assistance, smarter replies, natural-language automation and AI-powered Home camera notifications. Apple also adds automatic caption generation and translation capabilities for accessibility.
The new Notify Me feature can monitor webpages for changes such as price adjustments or product restocks. You can also get an extension with Safari, helping create a customised extension.
