A new leak suggests Apple could introduce a futuristic ‘Liquid Glass’ redesign for iPhones launching in 2027. The rumored redesign may represent one of Apple’s biggest visual changes to the iPhone in years. It remains to be seen how Apple decides to mark the 20th anniversary of its most successful product, and it’s worth adding that plans change, particularly when they’re made this far in advance.
According to a Weibo post and subsequent comments by the leaker Digital Chat Station this week (via MacRumors), the iPhone 19 Pro series is already undergoing evaluation testing and is rumored in the supply chain to ‘feature a quad-curved display design’. The latter phrase also includes an emoji of a person eating melon seeds, and your guess is as good as ours.
The leaker offers little further detail, but a quad-curved design generally means a screen that curves over all four edges, effectively minimizing bezels and giving the impression of a phone that’s all screen.
In this case, that impression will be assisted by the replacement of the Dynamic Island by an even smaller hole-punch cutout at the top of the screen for the front-facing camera, with the Face ID sensor array moved under the display–something which users have wanted for years but which has always presented technical and cost difficulties.
There have been multiple rumors that Apple will adopt a curved design for the 20th-anniversary iPhone in 2027. Last month, the leaker Ice Universe speculated that this could be branded as a Liquid Glass display, emphasizing that the curvature would be ‘extremely subtle’ and describing a handset in which “the bezel nearly disappears from sight, while edge viewing remains natural and undisturbed.”

Leaks from Digital Chat Station and other sources claim Apple is evaluating a quad-curved display for the iPhone 19 Pro series, curving on all four edges to create an almost bezel-free look.
This design could replace the Dynamic Island with a smaller punch-hole camera, while relocating Face ID sensors under the display. Similar designs have appeared in Android devices, but Apple’s adoption could reignite interest in the feature ahead of the iPhone’s 20th anniversary in 2027.
According to leaker Instant Digital, Apple may revert to titanium for future iPhones after using aluminum in the iPhone 17 Pro series. The company is reportedly developing improved titanium alloys to reduce weight and improve thermal conductivity, and is also exploring the long-rumored but challenging liquid metal option for Pro models.
