In May 2026, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation launched the UAE Skills Platform. The platform links education, skills, qualifications and labour market needs. It serves more than 200,000 students and around 200 educational institutions. It also expects to map more than 1,700 future skills. Certificates matter most when they match job needs.
Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals suits early-career technology professionals. The AI-901 exam covers AI workloads, machine learning on Azure, computer vision, natural language processing and generative AI. It also tests responsible AI topics such as fairness, safety, privacy, security, transparency and accountability.
Microsoft updated the English AI-901 exam on April 15, 2026. The current exam gives 40–45% weight to AI concepts and capabilities and 55–60% to AI solution work through Microsoft Foundry. The exam requires a score of 700 to pass. Microsoft lists a starting price of USD 99, based on the test country or region.
NVIDIA offers a focused route for candidates who want direct exposure to generative AI and large language models. The NVIDIA-Certified Associate Generative AI LLMs credential targets entry-level candidates. The exam has 50–60 multiple-choice questions, lasts one hour and costs USD 125. The credential covers machine learning, neural networks, prompt engineering, data analysis, Python libraries for large language models, model integration and deployment.
For experienced AI professionals, NVIDIA also offers the NVIDIA-Certified Professional Generative AI LLMs credential. The exam costs USD 200, lasts two hours and has 60–70 questions. The credential tests model design, training, fine-tuning, distributed methods, retrieval-augmented generation and model evaluation. NVIDIA states that candidates should have about two to three years of practical AI or machine learning experience.
Registration opened on August 23, 2026, for the seventh cohort of the UAE Artificial Intelligence Program. The programme will run from September 2026 to January 2027 through the National Program for Artificial Intelligence in partnership with the University of Birmingham.
The seventh cohort places a strong focus on generative AI and Agentic AI. Five specialised modules cover core AI concepts, data strategies for machine learning, Agentic AI applications, plus the way teams build, develop and govern such systems. The Technical Track targets developers and engineers. The Professional Track suits leaders, strategists and non-technical professionals.
The programme has graduated more than 450 professionals from over 100 government and private-sector entities. The UAE government also aims to shift 50% of government sectors, services and operations to Agentic AI-powered operating models within two years. That target gives Agentic AI skills a direct place in the UAE workforce agenda.
In January 2026, du Youth Council and Cisco Networking Academy launched a 42-hour AI and Data Science certification programme for university students and young professionals.
The course combines generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude with data skills such as Excel, SQL and Tableau. This mix suits roles where AI sits beside business analysis.
