IO Interactive has confirmed March 18, 2027, as the release date for ‘007 First Light’ on Nintendo Switch 2, ending months of delays for the James Bond adventure. The game will arrive nearly a year after its release on PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC.
The upcoming version will include the Deluxe Edition content and a special GoldenEye Suit as a pre-order bonus. The outfit recalls Pierce Brosnan's appearance in the 1995 James Bond film ‘GoldenEye’, which also inspired the popular Nintendo 64 game.
The GoldenEye Suit is designed to appeal to Nintendo fans familiar with the classic N64 title. Although ‘007 First Light’ takes a different approach to Bond gameplay, the outfit connects the new release with the franchise's history on Nintendo platforms.
The Switch 2 edition will also include four additional outfits from the Deluxe Edition: Day of the Dead, Desert Explorer, Gentleman Operator and Silent Anchor. Players will receive the Agent's Mark pistol and Gleaming Pack as part of the package.
The game will launch as a Game-Key Card release rather than a traditional physical cartridge. Players will therefore need to consider this format when purchasing the physical edition.
Developed by IO Interactive, ‘007 First Light’ follows James Bond during the early stages of his career as an MI6 agent. The game uses a third-person action-adventure format instead of the first-person perspective featured in many earlier Bond titles.

The game has sold more than four million copies worldwide since its initial release, according to the provided report. Its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 could help expand its audience among players who prefer Nintendo's hardware.
The Switch 2 has attracted greater support from major third-party publishers than its predecessor. However, some demanding titles have required additional development time before reaching the console.
Nintendo's 2027 release schedule is also taking shape, with titles such as ‘Pokemon Winds and Waves’, ‘Resident Evil: Veronica ', and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’ mentioned among upcoming games. While further delays cannot be ruled out, the confirmed March date gives Switch 2 owners a clearer timeline for the long-awaited Bond adventure.
