Abu Dhabi took a major step in advanced automotive manufacturing with the launch of ROX’s Advanced AI Manufacturing Centre. The facility started local production of ROX ADAMAS vehicles. Thus, marking a new phase in the UAE’s push to build a technology-driven automotive industry.

The first three ADAMAS vehicles have already started the production line carrying the “Made in the Emirates” mark. The development strengthens ROX’s localisation plans while adding new manufacturing capabilities to Abu Dhabi’s growing industrial ecosystem.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, said, “The UAE has strengthened its leading position on the global manufacturing map by building a competitive industrial ecosystem based on innovation and advanced technology, while reinforcing its position as an attractive destination for high-value investments and future industries.”

Al Nowais further explained, “The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in collaboration with its partners, continues to develop a flexible, growth-enabling industrial environment that supports global companies in localising their operations, transferring knowledge and technology, and developing integrated supply chains. This contributes to enhancing In-Country Value, increasing the competitiveness of products manufactured in the UAE, and creating high-quality opportunities for Emirati talent.”

ROX is expanding beyond vehicle assembly in Abu Dhabi. The company has also unveiled an AI Lab and Design Studio in the emirate.

AI, Design, R&D Come Together

The AI Lab will support development of ROX’s ROX AGENT AI platform, while the Design Studio will bring together designers from the UAE, China and other markets. This creates a broader ecosystem linking vehicle manufacturing with technology, design and research.

ROX plans to unveil its first UAE-designed vehicle in March 2027. The Abu Dhabi Edition will draw inspiration from Emirati culture and form part of the company’s global design programme.
