AMD has reintroduced the Ryzen 7 5800X3D along with a more affordable X3D CPU. Additionally, it will expand its Radeon GPU line globally. This new strategy aims to support gamers facing increasing platform prices.
As reported by PCMag Middle East, the move comes as the company celebrates the 10th anniversary of its AM4 platform and addresses renewed demand sparked by the ongoing memory shortage.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D drops back to its earlier price of $349 as a limited-edition model. The more advanced CPU features the AM4 architecture and DDR4 memory support, making it a powerful gaming CPU with a large 3D V-Cache.
This is not a new version of the product since all specs remain the same. However, AMD is more focused on targeting buyers looking to upgrade their systems without switching platforms. The company decided to work with existing customer demand rather than force a change in platforms for its latest product.
AMD also released the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, a new CPU designed for the AM5 platform, at a lower price than premium X3D CPUs. It features 8 cores and 16 threads for efficient gaming for less than $350.
Looking ahead, the tech giant has claimed, “AMD confirms its long-term commitment to the AM5 platform with drop-in upgrade support and new architectures planned through 2029, delivering sustained value and confidence for gamers to invest and upgrade.”
The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is not just for China anymore. Instead, it is released worldwide as a mid-range chip for gamers playing at 1440p resolution at an affordable price point. The move will also help AMD fill gaps in its product line.
This puts the competition under more pressure in the saturated mid-range market since it’s not all about targeting the high-end market. The company is more focused on expanding access for gamers on tighter budgets.
