Apple is developing a new iPad Mini model with an OLED display. This marks a considerable shift from the current LCD display technology. According to insider information, the device is likely to be launched in the second half of the year.

The inclusion of an OLED display in this iPad Mini model highlights the company’s attempt to include advanced display features in its small tablets.

iPad Mini: Performance and Hardware Upgrades

According to reports, iPad Mini will feature an 8.5-inch to 8.7-inch OLED display. Other leaks indicate that the tech giant may opt for a 60Hz refresh rate to save money. Apple may also skip the exclusive ProMotion technology, which is used only on premium devices.

The upcoming iPad Mini is expected to feature an A19 Pro or A20 Pro chip. It would also provide Apple’s flagship-class performance despite compact dimensions. The tablet may come with 8GB of RAM and storage capacity, ranging from 64GB to 512GB.

The Bluetooth 6.0 support is yet another addition, as the new iPad will be equipped with a more powerful in-house modem. Apple also aims to make its upcoming product a great choice for gaming, productivity, and multitasking.

Expected Price and Market Positioning

The price range of Apple’s upcoming device is yet another factor to keep in mind. Reportedly, the OLED upgrade will increase the starting price. In the UAE, the device could start at AED 2,171, while global pricing may range from $499 to $599.

Despite the price increase, the iPad Mini is likely to remain a strong option for users seeking a compact yet powerful tablet. Experts suggest this could further strengthen Apple’s fan base. However, critics claim that the tech giant often failed to live up to its promises. Apple has always been promising ‘major updates’ but has not always delivered them. As of now, no official confirmation has been made, so it's just a matter of time before the company makes an official announcement.
