Anthropic opened applications for its Claude Campus Ambassadors Program. It allows students and researchers to lead AI-focused activities at universities worldwide.

Applications opened on September 1 and will close on September 12. Anthropic will assess applications on a rolling basis. The program starts this month and runs through June 2027.

Selected participants will receive a cash stipend of USD 3,600, equivalent to about Rs. 3.39 lakh, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.

The initiative is open to undergraduate and graduate students, along with PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have work authorization in the country where they study.

Undergraduate ambassadors will lead Claude Builder Clubs on their campuses. Their activities can include workshops, hackathons and demonstration events. Participants may also receive resources such as API credits and access to events featuring Anthropic speakers.

Graduate students from STEM and humanities disciplines can lead Claude Campus Conversations. These sessions will examine AI’s role in education and society. Ambassadors can also organize discussions and provide platforms for students to present projects developed with Claude.

PhD students and postdoctoral researchers who use AI in their work can lead Claude for Science workshops. The track aims to develop campus communities focused on AI research. Participants may also engage with Anthropic scientists and attend sessions involving its mathematics and science teams.

The graduate and PhD tracks may initially involve a smaller group of institutions as part of a pilot program. The initiative will also provide access to AI workshops conducted by Anthropic. Participants can develop practical AI skills and connect with students and researchers internationally.

Ambassadors will have opportunities to share feedback on Claude’s features. Anthropic said that input could contribute to future product development. The program gives students a direct role in expanding AI learning communities on university campuses while gaining exposure to Anthropic’s research and technology.
