Dubai is undergoing a massive transformation as the ‘Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence’ shifts from vision to reality. This initiative has doubled the number of AI-related job postings to over 10,000 this year.
The metropolis is aggressively recruiting global talent to boost its economy by AED 100 billion annually. Specialized ‘AI Specialist Visas’ and tax-free salaries are being offered to fill roles in finance, aviation, and logistics. This surge is about a fundamental restructuring of the workforce that prioritizes applied AI skills over traditional technical degrees.
The current boom is driven by a new technology called ‘Agentic AI.’ These are smart systems that can run a whole business department on their own. Large companies in the UAE, such as the G42 Group, are using large-scale computer models to drive this change. As a result, the demand for AI experts is growing at a rate three times that of other jobs. Companies are now fighting to hire the best talent from around the world.
“We are seeing strong demand for candidates with AI capability across sectors... Rather than a fixed salary premium, the defining factor is competition—employers are often competing for a limited pool of proven talent,” says James Randall, Middle East sales director at HireRight, in a report by Khaleej Times.
This competition is forcing companies to pay even higher. Recruiters say companies are now offering extra perks, including money for children’s school fees and high-end housing, to attract talent. This helps convince experts to move from places like Silicon Valley or London to Dubai.
A tax-free AI salary sounds like a great deal, but the true value depends on your lifestyle. A senior AI specialist usually earns between AED 30,000 and AED 50,000 per month. The package might seem attractive, but the cost of living in Dubai is rising as well.
