Ghost of Yotei Legends has received its last major update and the game’s developer Sucker Punch has also confirmed that support for the title will be discontinued. The update works as a final patch, wrapping up remaining fixes and improvements. The company states that ending support will allow the team to focus on new experiences.
The studio behind the game has decided to move resources to upcoming titles. The latest update primarily focuses on stability and gameplay refinements. It may include minor balance tweaks, bug fixes, and performance improvements. The aim is to ensure a smoother long-term experience for players who will continue to play.
In a PlayStation Blog post, lead designer Darren Bridges announced the end of major updates, saying, “The Raid update was our last major planned update for Legends. It finishes the story of the Yōtei Six in that mode. We'd love to see players playing it, continue to play it, and enjoy it. It's been great.”
The announcement received mixed reactions from the gaming community. A few players have said they get it since the priorities have changed, while others feel it marks the end of an era for a multiplayer experience they enjoyed. Even though active development has stopped, the game’s servers are still expected to stay online.
