Rockstar Games has rolled out The Kortz Center Heist, the first major GTA Online heist expansion in six years. This update features an exciting new museum heist, vehicles, and stealth gameplay. Despite many gamers appreciating this long-awaited update, the rewards system has sparked numerous debates. Some fans even think that Rockstar is experimenting with gameplay features that will eventually make it into GTA 6.
The Kortz Center Heist sees players breaking into one of the most upscale museums in Los Santos for an art theft without raising alarms. The heist can be played solo or cooperatively with up to four players. There is also a designated planning property, new setup missions, and weekly changing paintings.
Unlike previous heists, this particular heist puts more focus on the planning phase, as players need to survey the area, take photos of the exhibits, wipe out the CCTV footage, and cover up all traces of their presence before leaving with the stolen goods. Rockstar is presenting the update as GTA Online's biggest heist addition since Cayo Perico.
The excitement surrounding the new heist has been overshadowed by Rockstar's revised payout model. Players receive the highest rewards only during their first successful completion each week. Every additional run offers significantly lower payouts. Rockstar says the system reflects 'buyer fatigue' in the in-game art market and encourages players to explore multiple activities instead of repeatedly farming a single mission.
The Kortz Center Heist is one of the last major updates for GTA Online before the release of GTA 6. Even though the studio did not make an official statement about it being the last update of the game, it appears that Rockstar is moving towards its next blockbuster.
However, there is nothing suggesting that Rockstar will implement such economic incentives in the online mode of GTA 6. Apart from some changes to GTA Online's economy, Rockstar has not made any connections between the two games.
Players of GTA Online can enjoy one of the largest and most interesting heists in recent times. At the same time, every design decision has fueled speculation about Rockstar's plans for GTA 6.
