Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro models are showing longer delivery waits in their second week of orders. JPMorgan said in a Sunday note that lead times are now broadly matching last year’s iPhone 17 series. The average wait for the iPhone 18 Pro rose to 23 days from seven days in the first week.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max saw its average lead time increase to 30 days from 19 days. The figures cover major markets tracked by JPMorgan, including the US, China, Germany and the UK. The US accounts for about 34% of Apple’s iPhone shipments, while China represents roughly 19%.
The US recorded lead times of 21 days for the iPhone 18 Pro and 28 days for the Pro Max. A week earlier, the figures stood at two days and 22 days respectively. Germany also saw a sharp increase. Delivery waits reached 22 days for the Pro and 29 days for the Pro Max. The previous week’s figures were five days and 16 days.
JPMorgan analysts said, “Although this implies the current pace of demand over the last few days for the Pro lineup is exceeding the prior year cycle.” The bank called for closer tracking of lead times in the third week. It said supply chain feedback on production plan changes around November could offer a clearer demand signal.
China is still the only major market where current lead times are below the iPhone 17 series. The gap narrowed for the Pro model. The iPhone 18 Pro has a 27-day wait in China, up from 13 days a week earlier. The Pro Max has a 33-day wait, compared with 21 days previously.
Those figures are still below the 30-day and 37-day waits recorded for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. JPMorgan also noted that the Pro Max was not available for in-store pickup in China. The data comes as Apple prepares to open preorders for its foldable iPhone Duo on October 16. JPMorgan said the timing could affect how analysts read demand for the Pro models.
