Apple is expected to launch iPhone 18 Pro Max in just a few months. Industry insiders and tech enthusiasts have already started speculating about what to expect from the next-gen flagship smartphone. According to a recent report, the new model will feature major hardware improvements without changing its signature look.
One of the biggest reported changes is a smaller dynamic island. Apparently, Apple might relocate additional Face ID sensors beneath the panel, making it even smaller without sacrificing any functionality.
Another rumored improvement includes a more efficient LTPO panel, which may enable a higher refresh rate, ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, in the new iPhone's 6.9-inch OLED display. The overall design may resemble the iPhone 17 Pro Max, though it might be more durable and include internal optimizations from Apple.
The new device may also get some serious performance improvements. First, insiders say the device will have Apple's A20 Pro chip built on a 2 nm process, compared with its 3 nm predecessor, the A19 Pro. This may provide better thermal management and power efficiency for intensive processes.
What's more, online leaks suggest, the new iPhone may use an in-house Apple C2 modem for better connectivity and lower battery consumption. In terms of battery capacity, it may see a slight boost, reaching 5,200 mAh from the current 5,088 mAh. At the same time, charging times are unlikely to change.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max camera upgrades are expected to feature crucial improvements. It may include a 48MP main camera with adjustable apertures for better low-light shots and sharper daylight photography. The ultrawide and telephoto lenses will continue to use 48MP sensors, as well as an 18 MP front camera with a Time-of-Flight module.
Amid all the speculations and rumors, Apple has yet to officially confirm any specifications. However, the latest leaks about the iPhone 18 Pro Max suggest it may prioritize practical upgrades over major design changes.
