Samsung has started the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series across global markets, and India has also received the new software. The update first rolled out in South Korea earlier this month. After that, Samsung expanded the release to many countries on May 11. The latest version comes with Android 16 and brings fresh AI tools, smoother performance, and better system control.
The company has released the update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 FE. Reports from several regions confirm that the software now appears on devices in Asia, Europe, and other markets. Indian users have also started to receive the update through the official software channel.
Samsung plans a gradual release, so some users may receive the update later than others. The company usually follows a phased method to avoid server pressure and software issues during large updates.
One UI 8.5 brings many changes to the Galaxy S25 lineup. Samsung has added better Galaxy AI support with smarter tools for communication, writing, and creative work. The update also improves Photo Assist features, which help users edit images with less effort.
The new version also adds smoother animations and faster app movement. System menus now look cleaner, while navigation feels more refined. Samsung has also improved Quick Share support. This feature now allows easier file transfer between Galaxy devices and Apple products.
Battery optimization remains another key part of the update. Samsung claims that the new software helps devices use power more efficiently during daily tasks. Performance upgrades also help apps open faster and reduce minor system delays.
Reports suggest that the stable One UI 8.5 package crosses 4GB in many regions. Given the large file size, Samsung recommends a strong Wi-Fi connection before installation. Devices also need enough free storage space for a smooth update process.
The update may take several minutes to complete as the system installs Android 16 along with Samsung’s custom software features.

Samsung may soon expand One UI 8.5 support to older flagship phones, foldable devices, and premium tablets. Reports already suggest that the Galaxy S24 series and newer foldable models could receive the update in the next phase.
Galaxy S25 users can check the update through the Settings menu under Software Update and Download and Install options.
