Property developers in the UAE are offering temporary payment deferments to buyers due to difficulties in meeting monthly installments amid ongoing regional tensions. Despite these financial challenges, developers emphasized that construction timelines and project delivery remain on track.

Approaching through Case-By-Case

Azizi Developments has executed internal mechanisms to assess deferment requests. “We are approaching this on a case-by-case basis, working closely with customers who are experiencing genuine short-term challenges. Our customers are an extension of the Azizi family and we treat them with a focus on fairness, understanding, and practical support,” said Tizian Raab, vice president for communications and advisor to the group CEO.

Raab added that a dedicated committee ensures consistency in approvals. “Where appropriate, we are accommodating requests through tailored solutions, including limited flexibility on payment timelines. These are not standardized deferment schemes but measured adjustments based on individual circumstances and necessity.”

Flexibility Seems Industry-Wide

Other developers are taking similar measures. Fakhruddin Properties CEO Yousuf Fakhruddin stated, “We’ve always accommodated buyers as long as there is a genuine reason. Some pay in advance, while others may face delays due to financial difficulties.”

Dubai-based RRS International Development is offering one- to three-month deferments depending on circumstances. Co-founder Rakesh Mirchandani said, “We’re addressing requests with care and a solutions-oriented mindset. We remain fully committed to continuing development and delivery, standing by both our clients and investors as we navigate this evolving situation.”

The Bigger Picture

Developers show continuous market demand, as market conditions remain stable despite their requests to postpone work. The construction work proceeds uninterrupted because safety measures protect the site while financial resources support its operations. The industry maintains its current support systems, which enable buyers to overcome immediate obstacles without interrupting their long-term growth and project completion efforts.
