Filipinos in the UAE can now send money directly to GCash wallets in the Philippines through Botim, following a new partnership between the two digital finance platforms. The service gives UAE users another option for sending remittances to family members and other recipients in the Philippines.
The funds can be received directly in a GCash wallet. Recipients can then use the money for bills, daily spending, transfers, savings and investments through the GCash platform.
Botim said the new service comes as money transfers between the UAE and the Philippines continue to grow. The company reported a 145% year-on-year increase in the value of remittances sent to the Philippines through Botim during the first eight months of 2026. The number of users making transactions also increased during the period. Botim stated that its transacting user base grew 115% year on year.
The platform said more than 60% of the Filipino community in the UAE uses Botim. It currently has 548,000 verified Filipino users in the country. Botim also reported that 2.2 million people used its platform in the Philippines over the past year. GCash, meanwhile, has more than 94 million registered users.
The new integration connects Botim’s remittance service directly with GCash wallets. This means recipients can access transferred funds within the GCash ecosystem rather than receiving money through a separate channel.
“Our focus is on making Botim more useful wherever those financial lives extend, by giving users access to the platforms and ecosystems they already rely on,” said Hesham Sherif, VP of Remittance at Botim. Jonathan Que, GCash International General Manager, said the partnership expands the ways Filipinos in the UAE can support their families in the Philippines.
“By enabling direct wallet access, we are making remittances more seamless, more relevant and better integrated with the broader financial needs of Filipino households,” Que said. Botim has 160 million users globally and is expanding its remittance services across markets including India, Pakistan and Egypt.
