WhatsApp is making its iPad experience more independent with a new account registration option. You can create a WhatsApp account directly through the iPad app instead of linking the tablet to an existing account on a smartphone.
The process still requires a phone number for initial verification through a one-time passcode. However, the iPad will serve as the primary device for the account. This comes as a major shift in how users access the messaging platform across devices.
WhatsApp has updated its in-car experience across Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The update expands the platform beyond its earlier voice-focused functionality.

WhatsApp has upgraded the way users interact with documents on the web and desktop applications. You can now view PDFs directly in WhatsApp without downloading them.
Lightweight editing is also enabled, where users can highlight and annotate their documents. This update, made possible with Adobe Acrobat, is targeted at users who frequently use WhatsApp to share documents.
The fourth major upgrade adds a new way to personalise WhatsApp Status. Users can now share songs directly from Apple Music and Spotify to their Status updates. The new features highlight that WhatsApp has evolved into much more than just a messenger app. It has expanded into other areas of our lives.
