India’s electric passenger-vehicle market is expanding rapidly in 2026. The Tata Nexon EV remains one of India’s strongest electric SUV offerings, combining mainstream pricing with practical range and familiar SUV proportions. It ranked third among India’s best-selling EVs during the first half of 2026, recording 16,567 units. Tata’s broad EV portfolio continues to strengthen its market position.
Tata Punch EV
The Punch EV brings electric mobility to a compact SUV format, making it relevant for urban buyers seeking practicality and affordability. It recorded 15,683 units during the first half of 2026, ranking fourth overall. Its popularity highlights growing consumer interest in smaller electric SUVs for everyday city driving.
Tata Harrier EV
The Harrier EV represents Tata’s push into larger, premium electric SUVs. Its presence among India’s leading EVs demonstrates how the market is expanding beyond compact models. The Harrier EV ranked sixth in first-half 2026 sales, while Tata’s overall EV portfolio maintained a commanding 39% market share.
Mahindra BE 6
Mahindra’s BE 6 has helped transform the electric SUV landscape with a technology-focused approach and performance-oriented positioning. Mahindra’s EV sales grew 147% year-on-year during the first half of 2026. The XEV 9e has become one of Mahindra’s most significant electric SUVs, contributing to the company’s rapid market expansion.
