Free Google AI Access: The UAE Artificial Intelligence Office and Google have launched a one-year complimentary Google AI Plus plan for university students. The initiative aims to strengthen students’ digital and AI capabilities, helping them use advanced technologies for learning, research and creative work while preparing for an increasingly AI-driven future economy.
Who Can Apply? Registered university students in the UAE aged 18 and above are eligible for the free Google AI Plus plan. Students must complete registration before December 31, 2026. The initiative expands an earlier student programme following strong participation and reflects the UAE’s broader push toward accessible AI education.
Gemini for Learning: Students receive access to Google Gemini and AI-powered tools designed to support academic work. Gemini can assist with understanding subjects, organising information and exploring ideas. The programme encourages students to move beyond simply using AI and develop a deeper understanding of applying these technologies effectively and responsibly.
Research Made Easier: Google AI Plus includes tools that help students organise sources, summarise study materials and references, and prepare research. These capabilities can reduce time spent handling large amounts of information. Students can use AI to explore academic topics while developing stronger research workflows and information-management skills.
Gemini Notebook: Gemini Notebook allows students to interact with academic materials and sources, create summaries and access interactive audio content. The tool is designed to turn study resources into more engaging learning experiences. Students can use it to organise information and build a more structured approach to coursework and research.
Images, Videos and Storage: The plan also provides AI-powered image and video generation capabilities, supporting creative projects and content production. Students receive 400GB of storage capacity as part of the package. Together, these features extend Google’s AI offering beyond academic research into multimedia creation, project work and digital collaboration.
Building an AI-Ready Generation: The UAE and Google will also conduct virtual and in-person training programmes covering Gemini and Gemini Notebook. The initiative emphasises responsible AI use in education and research. It forms part of the broader AI for All collaboration, supporting the UAE’s ambition to develop future-ready digital talent.
