Share Your WiFi Password in Seconds
Need to connect a friend to your WiFi without revealing the password? Your iPhone makes it quick and secure. No typing is required. Here's how to share your WiFi password with just a few taps.
Check Device Compatibility
Both devices should be Apple devices running a recent version of iOS or iPadOS. Make sure WiFi and Bluetooth are turned on. Personal Hotspot should be switched off. Both users should also be signed in to iCloud.
Save the Contact First
Before sharing, save the other person's Apple ID email in your Contacts. They should also have your contact details saved. This helps Apple recognize both users. It also allows password sharing to work properly.
Connect the Other iPhone to WiFi
On the second iPhone, open Settings and tap Wi-Fi. Select the same WiFi network you want to join. Keep the device nearby. A password prompt will appear automatically on the first iPhone.
Tap the Share Password Button
A pop-up will appear on your iPhone asking if you want to share the password. Tap Share Password to continue. The password is sent securely without showing the actual characters. The connection is completed automatically.
If It Doesn't Work
Restart WiFi and Bluetooth on both devices if the prompt doesn't appear. Make sure both phones are unlocked and close together. Confirm that the correct WiFi network is selected. Updating to the latest iOS version may also solve the issue.
