Dubai is set to host the inaugural Dubai Environment Conference and Exhibition 2026 (DECE) on September 7 and 8. The event will bring policymakers, environmental experts, businesses and academics together to discuss climate action, sustainability and emerging technologies.
Organized by the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA), the two-day event will take place at the Grand Hyatt Dubai under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. The conference will be held under the theme ‘Protecting Our Environment, Preserving Our Future.’
While climate change and biodiversity will remain key areas of discussion, technology will have a prominent role at the conference. One of the six main tracks will focus on environmental artificial intelligence, highlighting how digital tools can help authorities and businesses address environmental challenges.
Sessions will examine the use of technology in water resource management, coastal monitoring and vegetation tracking. Satellite-based systems will also be discussed for their ability to monitor environmental changes, analyze ecological conditions and collect data in real time.
The technology-focused agenda reflects the UAE's growing interest in using digital solutions to support sustainability goals. Dubai previously hosted initiatives examining the use of AI in environmental protection, including its first international Green AI conference earlier this year.
The conference will focus on six major areas: biodiversity, natural resources, food security, climate change, the circular economy and environmental AI. Climate-related sessions will examine ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen Dubai's ability to respond to climate risks. Discussions will also cover climate financing and how technology can support adaptation and resilience.
Other sessions will look at air, soil and water quality, sustainable food supply chains, food waste, recycling and electronic waste management. This broader agenda positions the event as a platform connecting environmental policy with practical business and technology solutions.

Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director-General of the authority, said the event would bring together specialists from across the environmental and sustainability sectors.
“The conference and exhibition represent a new milestone in Dubai’s efforts to consolidate its position as a global centre for environmental innovation and leadership,” he said.
The event supports several UAE and Dubai sustainability initiatives, including the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategy, National Green Agenda 2030 and Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
