Red Dead Redemption 2 actor Jim Santangeli has confirmed that he will appear in GTA 6. While his role is reportedly small, the revelation marks the first public confirmation of an actor linked to Rockstar Games' highly anticipated title. With Grand Theft Auto 6's release drawing ever closer, fans are eager to learn anything they can about the game, including who will appear in it.

What the Actor Revealed About His GTA 6 Role

The actor who portrayed Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2 has confirmed that he will also appear in Grand Theft Auto 6. During a livestream hosted by Jim Santangeli, the actor behind Simon Pearson confirmed that he provided his talents for Grand Theft Auto 6. Santangeli initially said that he had done some "cool stuff" in GTA 6, but noted that it was something small, before responding to a follow-up where he reiterated that it was a ‘little small bit.’

The actor didn't say anything further, as he has probably signed a non-disclosure agreement. Fans of the games will want to listen carefully to any NPCs they come across in GTA 6 once it's out, as any one of them could potentially be Santangeli.

Early in his career, Santangeli provided his voice for Grand Theft Auto 4 in 2008.

What This Means for GTA 6's Still-Secret Cast

The developer has worked with actors multiple times in the past. For example, Shawn Fonteno played an unnamed member of the Grove Street Families gang in GTA: San Andreas before returning to play Franklin in GTA 5. Jay Klaitz, who played Lester in GTA 5, was also in Red Dead Redemption, Dutch's Benjamin Byron Davis was in San Andreas and LA Noire, and Ned Luke, who played Michael in GTA 5, performed as an unnamed moonshiner in Red Dead Redemption 2, to name just a few.

There's a strong likelihood that a lot more familiar faces and voices from popular Rockstar titles will make an appearance in GTA 6 somewhere.

GTA 6 Craze

Grand Theft Auto 5 was launched in 2013. Since then, players across the globe have been waiting for its next version. Grand Theft Auto 6 was revealed in December 2023 with its first trailer that sent the internet into a meltdown. The first trailer, which has since been viewed over 268 million times on YouTube, promised the game would launch in 2025, with no specific release date confirmed.

The second trailer for GTA 6 introduced the game's second protagonist, Jason, and the world of Vice City. That trailer has accumulated more than 137 million views on YouTube. The actors portraying GTA 6's protagonists Jason and Lucia have yet to be officially revealed.

GTA VI Release Date

The open-world crime title was initially set to release on current-generation consoles on May 26, 2026. However, the much-anticipated game will launch in November 2026. In its official announcement, Rockstar apologized for the delay and said, “Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry to add more time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

“We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City,” Rockstar added.

Rockstar Games is known for delaying releases to ensure polish, as seen previously with Red Dead Redemption 2.
