PC players may finally have an idea of when GTA 6 could arrive on their platform. A new report claims that Rockstar Games is planning to release the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 in early February 2027.
At the moment, Rockstar has only confirmed the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those versions are expected to launch in May 2026. The company has not shared any details about a PC release. Still, the latest rumor has started a fresh round of discussion among fans.
Many players are not surprised by the reported timeline. Rockstar has followed a similar approach with some of its biggest games in the past. Console players usually get access first, while PC users have to wait a little longer.
The latest leak from DetectiveSeeds points to a February 2027 launch for GTA 6 on PC. He claimed that he spoke to multiple sources who have mentioned this release timeline.
His post on X stated, “According to 3 former Rockstar employees (that I contacted through LinkedIn), Grand Theft Auto 6 is aiming to release the PC version in February 2027. All stated this timeline could shift, but Take- Two and Rockstar wanted to get the game out before the end of fiscal year.”
If that happens, PC players would wait about nine months after the console release. Nothing has been confirmed by Rockstar. Like every leak, this one should be treated carefully until the company makes an official announcement.
Even so, the report has caught attention because it feels believable. Rockstar has delayed PC versions before, and many fans expected the same thing with GTA 6. The game is already one of the most talked-about releases in the world. Every new rumor quickly spreads across gaming communities, especially when it concerns the PC version.

Compared to earlier Rockstar games, the rumored wait for GTA 6 would actually be shorter.

A delayed PC launch is often about more than just development. PC games must be optimized to run across a wide range of systems, graphics cards, and hardware configurations, which requires additional testing and refinement.
There is also a business advantage. Separate launches help maintain interest in the game over a longer period and create another major sales opportunity months later.
