The United Arab Emirates has become one of the top places for AI companies and tech experts. Strong government support, huge money investment, modern cities, and easy business rules help the country grow fast in the AI sector.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi now attract many global technology firms. Big companies see the UAE as a safe and modern place for AI research, cloud systems, and data centers. The country also gives long-term visas to engineers, startup founders, researchers, and software experts. Given this, skilled workers from many nations move to the UAE for better career options.
The UAE has spent billions of dollars to build AI systems and digital infrastructure. One of the biggest deals came when Microsoft invested $1.5 billion in Abu Dhabi-based AI company G42 in 2024. This partnership helped the UAE gain global attention in the AI race.
In 2025, Microsoft announced total UAE investments worth more than $15.2 billion for AI and cloud projects. The company said over $4.6 billion already went into advanced AI data centers inside the country. Another $7.9 billion will support future expansion until 2029.
Reports also show that the UAE leads Gulf region AI infrastructure projects. More than $30 billion in AI data center investments may enter the GCC market before 2030, with the UAE as the main center.
One of the biggest AI projects in the world now rises in Abu Dhabi. In 2025, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, SoftBank, and G42 announced the Stargate UAE project. The plan includes a massive 1-gigawatt AI computing cluster. The first 200 megawatts may start work in 2026.
This project may turn the UAE into a major global AI center. Experts believe the huge computing power will support healthcare, banking, transport, education, and energy sectors across the region.
