Google may soon bring more AI features to Pixel smartphones through its next Pixel Drop update. The company has not officially announced the update, though leaked promotional videos have revealed some of the features that could be on the way. One of the key additions appears to be Screen Reactions, a new AI-powered feature that can respond to content shown on a user's screen.

The tool can generate contextual reactions and visual effects based on what users are viewing. The feature was first previewed by Google on The Android Show back in May and also found its way into the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 update. However, the latest leak suggests Screen Reactions could arrive earlier than expected as part of a Pixel Drop rather than waiting for a broader Android 17 rollout later this year.

Gemini Goes Beyond Text and Pictures

The promo clips also hint at tighter integration of Gemini Omni, Google’s multimodal AI model announced during I/O 2026. The model is designed to handle multiple input types and generate various content types from those inputs. One teased feature reportedly is the ability to generate videos directly on supported Pixel phones by combining different media formats.

Another focuses on music creation, carrying the message ‘Turn Your Ideas into Music.’ If these features are rolled out, Gemini on Pixel phones could do much more than help with writing and image creation. Users may be able to create videos, music and other content using simple prompts.

Questions Over Access

The leaked videos have also sparked questions about who will get access to these features. Some of the tools shown in the advertisements are already available through higher-tier Google One subscriptions. It is not yet clear whether Google will make them available to all Pixel users or keep them limited to paid plans.

That has led to uncertainty over whether Google intends to unlock these tools for all Pixel users or simply highlight services already tied to paid Gemini offerings. Google has not provided details on device eligibility, subscription requirements, or rollout timelines.

Pixel Drops Continue to Drive Feature Expansion

Pixel Drops are Google's quarterly software update program that delivers new features between major Android releases. The company uses these updates to introduce tools across smartphones, wearables, and other products in its ecosystem.

The most recent Pixel Drop arrived in May. That update added enhancements to satellite SOS services, expanded Recorder capabilities, introduced new Gboard sticker options and improved accessibility features. Google also upgraded AI-assisted calling tools and strengthened Scam Detection functionality.

The latest leak suggests that artificial intelligence could take center stage in the next Pixel Drop. If the promotional material reflects Google's final plans, Pixel users may see a significant expansion of on-device AI tools well before Android 17 reaches a wider audience.
