Netflix announced October 30, 2026, as the premiere date for Obsess, a Kuwaiti psychological horror series that explores obsession, guilt, betrayal and supernatural mystery. The streaming platform has also released the official trailer, offering a glimpse into a disturbing story shaped by a troubled past and a relationship that refuses to end.
The series will arrive ahead of Halloween, adding a Middle Eastern horror title to Netflix’s October lineup. Set in Kuwait, the show combines psychological suspense with elements of horror and the supernatural.
Obsess follows Talal, played by Yagoub Alfarhan, who returns to Kuwait after his father’s death. His homecoming takes an unsettling turn when he begins experiencing visions of Hessa, a woman he once loved.
As memories of their relationship resurface, Talal struggles with guilt and unresolved emotions. He also begins questioning whether Hessa exists only in his mind or whether something sinister is drawing him back into their past.
The story centers on an obsessive relationship that gradually turns darker. It examines how unresolved conflicts and past betrayals can influence the present. It also manages to leave room for supernatural developments.
The trailer expands the story beyond Talal and Hessa. It introduces Mona, played by Laila Abdallah, Talal’s wife. She attempts to keep her family together as Talal’s behavior becomes increasingly unsettling.
Yagoub Alfarhan leads the series as Talal, while Haya Abdulsalam plays Hessa and Laila Abdallah portrays Mona. The supporting cast includes Hussein Al-Mansour, Ibrahim Al-Harbi, Asmahan Tawfiq, Ghada Al Mulla, Hussain Al-Haddad and Abdullah Al-Blooshi.
Said El Marouk directs the series, with Eyad Saleh handling the screenplay. Shasha produces the show and developed its story. The 1970s Kuwait setting provides the backdrop for the series’ exploration of obsession, psychological distress and supernatural horror.
Obsess will premiere on Netflix on October 30, 2026. The platform has not announced the episode count or confirmed whether it will release the entire season at once or follow a weekly schedule.
