Pokémon GO is set to celebrate a major milestone with a special 10th Anniversary Broadcast on July 9. The livestream marks a decade since the augmented reality game transformed mobile gaming. Fans can expect new content, exclusive rewards, and plans for the franchise. The event also coincides with the Pokémon franchise's 30th anniversary, making it one of the biggest celebrations in the game's history.
Developer Niantic explained, “Trainers from around the world, including those who were among the first to experience the game in 2016, long-time players who have been catching Pokémon for the past decade, and those who are just beginning their adventure, are invited to tune in and celebrate together.”
Pokémon GO has hinted that several well-known creators will participate and stream throughout the day along with the main presentation. The Pokémon GO special is expected to be streamed mainly on YouTube, while some of the creators will also live-stream on Twitch and TikTok. More information will probably be revealed closer to the broadcast.
Apart from news related to Pokémon GO, fans who watch the broadcast will also have an opportunity to earn Twitch Drops by linking their Pokémon Trainer Club and Twitch accounts.
The anniversary live stream event will take place just days ahead of GO Fest 2026: Global, which is scheduled for July 11 and 12. The global fest will feature Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y raids, rotating habitats, anniversary Pokémon, and community challenges.
This month, Pokémon GO also organized a 10th Anniversary Party event. The fest marked the arrival of key events including:
Gimmighoul holding a special anniversary coin
Increased XP and Stardust rewards
Themed Pokémon encounters
Timed research tasks.
Though Niantic has not announced any details regarding the live event, the community anticipates that Niantic will reveal many announcements regarding the seasons ahead, new updates, live events, and rewards associated with the anniversary. As Pokémon GO is celebrating its tenth year, the event will definitely be full of surprises and fun-filled moments.
