Shory, a UAE-based insurtech platform, has introduced an AI-powered insurance agent designed to make insurance-related interactions faster and more accessible for customers. The move comes as artificial intelligence increasingly becomes part of financial and insurance services.

Shory is a licensed insurtech regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE under License No. 287. Its platform already provides online access to car, health, home and pet insurance.

AI Agent Aims to Simplify Insurance

The new AI insurance agent is designed to assist customers with insurance-related queries and processes through digital interactions. The development reflects a broader shift toward using AI to reduce the time and effort traditionally required for paperwork-heavy insurance services.

Shory's existing platform is built around an online and paperless insurance experience. Customers can compare options, select coverage, and purchase policies digitally, while the company also offers instant policy issuance and 24/7 support.

The company currently offers car, health, home, and pet insurance through its platform.

Shory's Digital Insurance Platform

For motor insurance, Shory lets customers get instant quotes by entering their vehicle plate number. Customers can then choose between comprehensive and third-party motor insurance.

Its health insurance offering includes Basic and Comprehensive plans for individuals, families, and domestic workers. The platform also provides access to plans offering cashless treatment through a network of healthcare providers.

Home insurance covers properties and their contents, while pet insurance covers cats and dogs, including benefits such as veterinary visits and treatments.

Focus on Faster Customer Service

The AI-powered approach aims to make insurance interactions more efficient while complementing Shory's existing digital services.

The company's platform already supports claims, renewals, and customer queries. It also offers an online claims process that handles cases from damage assessment through settlement.

Shory's use of AI comes as insurers and insurtech companies increasingly explore automated systems for customer support and routine processes. However, insurance remains a regulated industry, making the way AI systems interact with customers particularly important.

Shory's latest development is its focus on technology-led insurance services in the UAE. By combining AI with its existing digital platform, the company is looking to make insurance more accessible while reducing the friction traditionally associated with buying and managing policies.
