Sony has introduced the PlayStation Prism Collection, featuring see-through DualSense controllers and matching PS5 console covers. The design brings back the transparent look popular in electronic devices in the late 1990s. The collection comes in three colors and will launch on February 4, 2027.
Each new DualSense controller will cost USD 84.99 in the US. The matching PS5 console covers will cost USD 74.99. Pre-orders will open on November 10, 2026, through PlayStation Direct and other participating retailers.
The Prism Collection comes in three colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. Each controller has a glossy, transparent back that lets users see parts of the internal components. The front keeps a design similar to the regular DualSense controller.
Each color gives the transparent design a different look. Flare Orange appears pinkish where its layers overlap, while Emerald Green creates more depth around the visible parts. Graphite Gray offers a simpler look with shades of gray. The matching PS5 console covers also have transparent sections that reveal parts of the internal components, including the fan area. Their central panels have a metallic finish.
Sony has not announced any changes to the controllers' main features. The Prism models continue to offer the same haptic feedback and adaptive triggers as the standard DualSense. Sony has also not announced any improvements to battery life or wireless connectivity.

The Prism DualSense controller costs USD 15 more than the standard version, which sells for USD 69.99 in the US. The extra cost comes from the transparent design, as Sony has not announced any performance improvements.
The console covers are replacement panels designed for existing PS5 systems. Sony has not released independent test results showing how well the transparent finish handles scratches or whether its color may fade over time.
The Prism Collection is expected to be available in the US, UK, and supported European markets through PlayStation Direct and selected retailers. However, the availability of the console covers may differ from one region to another.
