‘Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’ has received a new gameplay reveal as developers mark 30 years of Lara Croft's original adventure. Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog and Amazon Game Studios presented the latest footage at the TR30 Derby and MCM London events, offering a closer look at the upcoming remake.
The footage revisits familiar locations from the 1996 game, including Peru, Greece, Egypt and Atlantis. It also features recognisable moments, such as the giant Atlas puzzle, battles against Atlantean enemies and the golden transformation linked to King Midas' statue.
The remake retains Lara Croft's signature acrobatics and classic appearance while introducing updated gameplay systems. The developers are aiming to preserve the original adventure's identity while adapting its mechanics for modern players.

One major addition is a Focus meter that builds as players deal damage, take hits and dodge enemy attacks. The system allows Lara to slow down time and perform special acrobatic moves during combat.
Game director Raul Siquera explained the feature earlier this year. "When you're taking damage, dealing damage, dodging attacks, you're building your Focus meter," he said. "Focus allows you to slow down time around you and showcase some of the things that Lara used to do in 1996."
The game will also introduce skill trees and crafting, offering additional ways to develop Lara's abilities. These changes distinguish the remake from a direct recreation of the original title.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is scheduled to launch on February 12, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Players can also obtain Lara's look from the Survivor trilogy as a pre-order bonus. Deluxe and Collector's Editions will provide 48 hours of early access.
Crystal Dynamics is also developing Tomb Raider: Catalyst, another adventure planned for 2027. The game will take Lara to Northern India, where a mythical catastrophe uncovers ancient secrets and awakens mysterious forces. The project signals the studio's plans to expand the franchise alongside its return to Lara's original adventure.
