The UAE job market is seeing demand in technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, real estate, construction and professional services. Recruiters say employers are giving more importance to practical experience, AI skills and what candidates can bring to a job.
Hiring trends vary across the Emirates. Dubai continues to offer vacancies across a wide range of private-sector industries. Abu Dhabi is adding roles in finance, technology, energy and infrastructure. Ras Al Khaimah is also seeing recruitment linked to new consumer-focused businesses.

Mahesh Shahdadpuri, Group Chairman of TASC Outsourcing, said, “Given the depth of Dubai’s private sector, strong hiring is likely across technology, financial services, hospitality, real estate, and professional services. Abu Dhabi will continue to create opportunities across financial services, technology, energy and infrastructure as the emirate expands its economic base.”
Nicki Wilson, Owner and Managing Director of Genie Recruitment, said, “Thousands of people are currently being hired for the property alone, which will have a knock-on effect across hospitality, retail, F&B and supporting industries in the emirate.”
Ras Al Khaimah is seeing additional recruitment linked to Wynn Al Marjan Island. Thousands of people are being hired for the property, with related demand expected across hospitality, retail, food and beverage and supporting industries. Hospitality hiring is weaker in the near term, but Wilson expects some improvement as the winter season approaches.
Sarah Brooks, founder of Fikrah HR said, “Practical, demonstrable experience now matters more than qualifications alone. Candidates who can show measurable outcomes (a project, a dashboard, a case study) rather than just a CV are increasingly favored, especially in DIFC/ADGM-based firms.”
She has seen weaker hiring across hospitality, tourism, real estate marketing, retail, trade and logistics in 2026. Some companies are choosing unpaid leave, shorter working hours or slower salary increases instead of making large job cuts, she said.
According to recruiters, qualifications alone are becoming less important for job applicants. Employers now prefer applicants who are able to apply their skills in practice and provide valuable outcomes.
Knowledge of artificial intelligence and data skills is becoming more crucial for various fields such as finance, human resources management, marketing and operations. Other criteria that employers are considering include problem-solving, adaptability, communication skills, knowledge about businesses, and knowledge about the UAE labor market.
Job applicants who can provide their work through a project, dashboard, or case study might have an advantage over candidates whose main tool is their CV. It is especially true for job applicants who are applying to companies operating in DIFC and ADGM.
The graduates are under even more pressure due to employers' preference for applicants with experience over the last two years. The candidates should take into account that, according to recruiters, networking, personal branding and effective use of LinkedIn increase visibility.
Employers will continue recruitment until 2027, and technology, infrastructure, tourism, financial services and healthcare will likely demand skilled labor. Candidates who have professional and technical skills will have more opportunities.
